Outside of normal business hours, hospital security personnel may accept any items included on the Recreational
Therapy/Child Life Department Needs yer. In addition, the following items may be acceptable on an ongoing
basis to be used in our Family Center:
Accepted Gifts-In-Kind:
Toiletry kits — travel size of the following: toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, lotion; regular size shampoo
& conditioner. They can be grouped in individual Ziploc or decorative bags.
Dishes — 8-set prefered so each room has a matching set
Silverware — 8-set prefered so each room has a matching set
Towel sets — 4 matching sets for each of the 6 rooms that includes: large towels, hand towels &
wash cloths. Light pastel colors are recommended as dark colors will bleed
Unusable items:
The following list represents the kind of items that we are unable to accept due to our requirement to
follow hospital regulations that are designed to protect our wonderful patients. In all circumstances,
any donation that is not brand new may not be brought into the hospital.
Pre-owned — doll collections, train sets, Disney characters, Beanie Babies, childrens books
Home baked goods
Display collections — such as Christmas Villages
Aluminum pull-tabs — may be re-directed to Ronald McDonald House
Potentially Acceptable Items:
The following items may be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Donors are asked to please make
arrangements with a member of the donor development department before dropping them o.
Hand sewn items — such as pillowcases, gowns, ice packs, day spreads, blankets (with no in-house
laundry, the guidelines have changed. Please call 509-252-3370.
Durable medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers, orthotics and prosthetics
Brand new electronics (computers)
