Resume Checklist
Format (Appearance):
Template: Avoid resume templates from resume or computer soware. They are dicult to edit and oen are used by many.
Length: For undergraduate students, use one-page. Graduate or higher 1-3 pages depending on relevance of experience.
Spacing: Margins of 0.5 to 1 inch
Layout: Use of bullet points, consistent bold, capitalizaon and underlining.
Consistency: make sure to have month and year or city and state to the le or right of the page. Make sure all align.
Content (conveys the image that meets the readers needs):
Use of WHO method on job descripons.
Use acon verbs to convey enthusiasm and achievement.
Make sure grammar is correct. Check for typos and misspellings. Have someone proofread your resume.
Be consistent when presenng data or numbers. Use either numerals or words but not both.
Statements are recommended to be no longer than 2 lines on a resume.

The W.H.O Method helps eectively create an evidence-based resume. An evidence-based resume helps in showcasing your
skills, potential, and provide proof to the reader that your qualications match what they are looking for in a candidate.

HOW TO USE THE W.H.O. METHOD
Choose relevant experiences and tasks in your resume, as it applies to the application you are completing (e.g. jobs,
internships, graduate school volunteer activities, club memberships, professional memberships, courses/projects, study
abroad, service learning, etc.) to demonstrate relevant skills.
Use the W.H.O. Method to evaluate tasks and experiences to help you write the evidence – based statements starting
with an action verb.
