Caregiver Transportation Benefits
Gohio Commute
gohiocommute.com/s/clevelandclinic
Cleveland Clinic recognizes that environmental health and human health are inherently linked, and
the mode of transportation choice our more than 51,000 caregivers make on their daily commutes
impacts the air quality of Northeast Ohio.
Gohio Commute’s employer landing page and dashboard allows caregivers to track their daily
commuting habits and offers information on transportation options in Northeast Ohio. Caregivers can
connect with other caregivers within the same region, city, or neighborhood to help increase
transportation mode-shift away from SOV (single occupancy vehicle) to more sustainable
alternatives such as carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, or biking. This tool provides the best
transportation options for your daily commute, tracks activity, and promotes challenges and
engagement events which can lead to significant time and budget savings.

Carpool Program
Each carpool may have up to four members. Once you identify the members of your carpool, please
submit an online carpool registration request. Click HERE for the registration form.
Carpool Parking Assignments:
All Carpool Members will be assigned to the same on-campus employee parking garage (based on
availability). Each member will be granted access to the assigned garage (either their ID badge or
AVI sticker).
Exceptions:
If a carpool member cannot ride with the carpool for some reason, that member may drive their own
vehicle that day and park in their carpool assignment. Each carpool team is allowed 4 exceptions
per month before they will be charged a fee. If more than 4 exceptions occur, every member of the
carpool will be charged an additional $8 per person per occurrence.
Payment of Parking Fee:
The total fee charged is the full time monthly rate for the assigned area. The fee will be divided
among the carpool members and will be payroll deducted for Cleveland Clinic employees or pre-paid
on a monthly basis for contracted employees (T & C numbers). For example, if the carpool is
assigned to the 89th St. Employee Garage the $65/monthly fee is divided as follows:
Cleveland Clinic Foundation 9500 Euclid Ave Document Last Updated:

2 members = $32.50 per month
3 members = $21.66 per month
4 members = $0 per month
NOTE: The discount for low emission and fuel efficient vehicles does not apply to carpools.
Contracted employees (T numbers) must pre-pay for their parking according to the current
Contractor Parking Policy (see HR #581).
Default Privileges:
All members of the carpool will have automatic night/weekend/holiday default privileges on their ID
Badge or AVI sticker. Please see attached map for details.

Group Accounts
Non-main Campus departments should register with Parking Services to set-up a group account for
their employees who travel to main campus.
We ask that off-campus hospitals, FHCs, doctors, and satellite office buildings do NOT validate
employee parking when traveling to main campus. At the end of 2008, we will also be cancelling all
orange parking access cards. Instead, we ask that you set up a group account.

A group account allows all employees within your group (you can designate which employees) to
have 24/7 access on their ID Badge to the E. 89th St (MM) Garage on main campus. When we set
up your group we will determine the approximate number of employees on main campus at any
given time in order to determine the appropriate monthly fee that will be charged to your Lawson.
Example group:
CCAC Department registers a group account with 40 employee members. It was determined that
only 4 employees would be coming to main campus at any given time, so the monthly Lawson
charge would be $200 per month for access to select employee parking locations on campus. If
more than 4 employees are on main campus at any given time, the Lawson will be charged a one-
time $8 utilization fee for each occurrence.
Please complete the Group Account Registration Form and submit to Parking Services (fax: 216-
445-5159 or mail: JJNb-230).
