POLICIES
Tuition:
Enrollmentisbythetermonly,orforthebalanceofatermifthestudentenrollsafterthetermhasbegun.Partial
termenrollmentisavailableforadultsbutmustbeprearrangedatthetimeofbilling.
Tuitionisdue,payabletoConcordiaUniversity,atthebeginningofeachtermuponreceiptofabillingstatementor
atthetimeofthestudent'sinitialenrollment.Paymentmustbereceivedpriortothefirstlesson.Latefeeswillbe
assessedonlatepayments.Nolessonswillbegivenuntilpaymentisreceived.
Refunds:
Ifastudentwithdrawspriortothebeginningofatermforwhichtuitionhasbeenpaid,afullrefundwillbemade;
withdrawalpriortotheendofthefourthweekoftheterm,a50%refund;norefundwillbemadeafterthefourth
weekoftheterm.
Norefundswillbegivenforanymissedprivatelessons.
Missed Lessons:
MissedPrivateLessons:Studentscanreceiveonlyonemakeuplessonpertermforexcusedabsences(not
includinglessonsmissedduetoteachercancellation).“ExcusedAbsences”areprivatelessonsmissedbecauseof
illness,providingtheteacherisnotifiedbynoononthedayofthelesson.Illnessesreportedafternoonwillbe
madeupatthediscretionoftheteacher.Privatelessonsmissedforreasonsotherthanillnesscannotbemadeup.
ManyteachersofferaLessonExchangeListfornonexcusedabsences–contactyourteacherformore
information.
Exceptions:lessonsthatconflictwithcertainholidays,suchasRoshHashanah,YomKippur,andHalloween,maybe
madeupinadditiontothe“onlyonemakeup”policy.
MissedGroupLessons:Grouplessonscannotbemadeuporrescheduled.Norefundswillbegivenforanymissed
grouplessons.
Communications
EmailistheofficialmethodofcommunicationbetweenthePCPPteachersandstaff,andtheirstudentsand
students’parents.ThePCPPdoeshaveaphoneline:(708)2093141.However,thisphoneisriggedtotake
messagesandconvertthemtoemails!Individualteachersmaywelcometextsfromyouontheirpersonalcell
phones,butthisisuptoeachindividualteacher.Noteacherisrequiredtousetheirpersonalphonesforthis
purpose.
Toreportanabsence,parentsshouldemailtheteacherdirectly,orleaveamessageonthePCPPphoneline.
Practice:
Studentsareenrolledwiththeunderstandingthattheywillpracticeaminimumoffivedaysperweek.Suggested
dailypracticerequirementsareasfollows:

� Elementaryschoolgrades35:mostoften,a30minutelessonisrecommended,whichrequires30
minutesofpracticeperday
� Grades68:mostoften,a45minutelessonisrecommended,whichrequires45minutesofpracticeper

� Grades912:mostoften,a60minutelessonisrecommended,whichrequires60minutesofpracticeper
day
Students who are unable to fulfill these practice requirements on a regular basis may be dropped from a
teacher's schedule.
