LAPTOP TERMS & CONDITIONS

DeVry University is sponsoring a laptop program for all eligible employees or their dependents* (“Laptop Program”). DeVry

University, in its sole discretion, will determine whether an individual is eligible to participate in the Laptop Program (“Eligible

Student”).

This form must be read and signed by any undergraduate and graduate Eligible Student who qualifies for a laptop through

their JumpStart Your Education Corporate Education Partner prior to participating in the Laptop Program. This document

outlines the terms and conditions for the laptop program. Please read through the requirements carefully as all recipients must

abide by these terms and conditions. Questions should be directed to your Admissions Representative.

By signing below, I understand and agree to the following terms of this Laptop Program Student Agreement:

Laptop Options and Action Required

• DeVry will provide each Eligible Student with logon credentials to access a designated portal and I am responsible for

selecting 1 laptop option (“Selected Laptop”) and placing an order through the designated portal.

• DeVry will identify, in its sole discretion, 2 laptop options with at least the minimum technical PC specifications

required based on program of enrollment.

o If I am enrolled in the Game & Simulation Programming or Web Graphic Design/Multimedia Design &

Development programs, I am eligible for the below laptop:

 Multimedia Design Laptop HP Smart Buy 450I5-6200U: Core i5 6200U / 2.3 GHz, Win 7 Pro 64-bit

(includes Win 10 Pro 64-bit License), 8 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, DVD Super-Multi, 15.6" 1920 x 1080

(Full HD), HD Graphics 520, Wi-Fi

o If I am enrolled in any certificate or degree program other than the programs previously listed, I am eligible for

the below laptop:

 HP Smart Buy 255, E2 7110 / 1.8 GHz, Win 10 Home 64-bit, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, DVD Super-

Multi, 15.6" TN 1366 x 768 (HD), Radeon R2, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

Student Responsibilities

• I can only participate in the laptop program once as a DeVry student.

• I am only eligible to participate in the laptop program in my first session.

• I understand only orders placed through the designated portal are included in the Laptop Program.

• I accept ownership of the Selected Laptop upon delivery and all associated liability.

• I am responsible for the acceptance and compliance of any terms, conditions and restrictions related to the Selected

Laptop, software or application.

• I will comply with all applicable State and Federal laws, including but not limited to copyright and intellectual property

law pertaining to software.

• I am responsible for any tax liability for the Selected Laptop.

• I will not leave the Selected Laptop unattended at any time and understand that DeVry is not responsible for the loss,

theft or damage of the Selected Laptop.

• If I do not remain enrolled through the third week of my program’s first session, I will be charged for the Selected

Laptop. I will contact my admissions representative if I intend to withdrawal from my first session.

• If my intended start date of school changes, I will contact my admissions representative to determine future eligibility.

Additional Information

• DeVry will approve, in its sole discretion, each Selected Laptop order placed through a designated portal.

• Vendor will confirm order and shipment information with the Eligible Student for each DeVry approved order and all

costs and expenses related to the shipment will be the sole responsibility of DeVry.

• The Selected Laptop is protected by a 30 day warranty, which is contracted exclusively with the Vendor and not with

DeVry.

• DEVRY UNIVERSITY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES RELATED TO THE SELECTED LAPTOP AND THE LAPTOP

PROGRAM, INCLUDING ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS

FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

• DeVry University is not responsible or accountable for any loss, damage, claim, demand, liability, cost or expense of

any nature or kind, including indirect, special or consequential damages, arising directly or indirectly out of the

possession, use, control or operation of the Selected Laptop, including those resulting from the inadequacy of the

Selected Laptop, or the results obtained from it, or any defect in it, or from mechanical failures of the Selected Laptop,

loss of data, or from interruption of information technology use while such failures are being remedied or while other

repairs and/or maintenance are being performed.

• Dependents* of JumpStart Your Education employees are considered Eligible Students and may participate in the

Laptop Program.

* All partner benefits, including the laptop program, are extended to dependents of qualified employees. Dependents

include: spouse, biological child, stepchild, legally adopted child, child for whom the employee is a court appointed

guardian, child of a domestic partner, and adoptive or biological parents of the eligible employee. Dependents are

also defined as a domestic partner in a committed long-term relationship. Neither party can be legally married to other

individuals.

This Agreement is the entire and complete understanding between the parties and replaces any prior oral or written

agreement. This Agreement cannot be altered or amended except by subsequent written agreement signed by both parties.

Any provision of this Agreement, which is deemed by a court of competent jurisdiction to be illegal or invalid, shall be severed

from this Agreement and shall not affect the continuing legality or validity of the remaining provisions.
