How to Make
Hybrid Work
Better for ITDMs
and Employees
The pandemic led to a sudden surge in hybrid work,
forcing IT Decision Makers (ITDMs) and their employees
to adapt with little preparation. Only now are we able to
evaluate how that forced experiment is going: How do
ITDMs and their workers feel about hybrid work? What
are their challenges and needs? And what can ITDMs
do to help their hybrid workforce be more productive
and ecient?
To answer those questions, HP and Intel tasked the
Hypothesis Group with surveying nearly 3,000 ITDMs
and their workers in the US, UK, France, and Japan. All of
the ITDMs and workers surveyed spend at least one day,
or 20% of their week, working from their home oce or
other remote location.

Research shows that 89% of workers are
either somewhat or extremely happy with
hybrid work, with most reporting that they
appreciate the work-life balance, freedom,
and flexibility. However, despite overall
happiness, 78% say they are not thriving
or have mixed feelings about hybrid work.

Workers Need More—and Faster— IT Support
The survey revealed that one of the biggest disconnects between the ITDMs and workers is
that ITDMs overestimate the tech savviness of their hybrid workers. Correcting this misper-
ception among ITDMs—and providing workers with troubleshooting resources, technology that is
easy to use and integrate, and rapid IT supportis key to creating a thriving hybrid workforce.

How ITDMs Can Help Their
Hybrid Workforce Thrive
The survey showed that most ITDMs and their
employees are happy with hybrid work, yet most
are not thriving. To change that, ITDMs can take
advantage of the latest technologies and tools
from HP and Intel that are designed to help
hybrid workers in four key areas: productivity,
collaboration, security, and IT support.
Better PCs, Better
Employee Retention
Mature organizations are 20% more likely to
experience improved employee retention as a
benefit of investing in high-performance, stable PCs.

Powering Productivity with
the Latest PCs and Processors
PCs are at the center of hybrid work, and their
speed and responsiveness have a major impact
on worker productivity. Many HP business
desktops and laptops come with the Intel vPro®
platform powered by 13th Gen Intel® Core
processors, which deliver breakthrough perfor-
mance to tackle the most demanding tasks.
13th Gen Intel Core processors advance the
performance hybrid architecture of the previous
generation, with workloads intelligently routed
by Intel® Thread Director to either Performance-
cores and Efficient-cores—whichever will
perform each task fastest and most efficiently.

Streamlining Collaboration
with Fast, Easy Connectivity
The single most common tech challenge
cited by hybrid workers is a slow or inconsistent
internet connection, followed closely by
additional connection and collaboration
challenges. Fortunately, these are challenges
ITDMs can readily address using PCs with the
Intel vPro platform, which features the latest
wired and wireless connectivity solutions.
Intel® Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+)
13th Gen Intel Core processors come with
Intel Wi-Fi 6E (Gig+) built into the chip, so
hybrid workers can tap into the 6 GHz band,
where wireless speeds are nearly 3x faster than
Wi-Fi 5—even in high-traffic environments
like apartment buildings.

Intel® Connectivity Performance Suite
The Intel Connectivity Performance Suite,
available with the latest Intel® Evo™ laptops,
helps workers avoid time-wasting Wi-Fi glitches
and interruptions. The software automatically
prioritizes quality-sensitive, real-time workloads
like video calls over less-urgent workloads like
email on Windows-based systems.
3
Another innovative feature of Intel Connectivity
Performance Suite is the Advanced Connection
Manager, which switches users automatically to
the best available connection type: Wi-Fi, 5G,
or Ethernet.
4
Intel® Wi-Fi Proximity Sensing
On select Intel Evo laptops like those from HP,
Intel Wi-Fi Proximity Sensing intelligently detects
when to wake laptops so employees can get
back to work, and when to lock laptops to
keep them secure..
3
HP Presence
HP Presence is a suite of advanced conferencing
and collaboration solutions embedded into
select HP devices to bridge the divide between
in-person and virtual meetings. Technologies 
include HP Auto Frame that focuses on users
during video calls, AI noise reduction, and
lowlight/backlight adjustment.
Intel® 5G Solution 5000
For fast connections where Wi-Fi isn’t available
or reliable, select HP laptops come with Intel 5G
Solution 5000. This solution is validated by Intel
for outstanding stability and reliability, as well as
support for major operator networks worldwide
and multiple WWAN standards.
Thunderbolt™ 4 Ports
Thunderbolt 4 ports can help workers de-clutter
their workspace, because one cord is all it takes to
transfer data at 40 Gbps, output a video signal,
or charge a laptop.
HP Smart Sense
HP Smart Sense intelligently optimizes your PC
power and thermal performance based on your
usage scenario.

Delivering Built-in Security
ITDMs are twice as worried as hybrid workers
about the security risks of working from home.
The gap in risk concern reinforces the need
for ITDMs to provide workers with PCs that
come with the best available hardware-based
security features.
HP Wolf Security
With HP Wolf Security your business can
thrive everywhere – if your endpoints are secure.
HP helps you protect, detect, and recover from
cyberattacks no matter where your workforce is.
Threat containment: CPU-enforced
malware prevention stops phishing and
ransomware attacks.
Lost/stolen hardware: Remotely locate,
lock, and wipe lost or stolen PCs.
• Protect sensitive or confidential data.
Protect firmware without IT intervention.

Simplifying IT Support
and Management
Most hybrid workers surveyed do not consider
themselves tech savvy or able to troubleshoot
their own IT issues. They need support—and
about one in three say IT support does not arrive
fast enough. To simplify support and manage-

easier for businesses to securely manage
entire PC fleets, wherever they may be.
Intel® Active Management
