One paragraph course Description: Personal fitness is an individual effort and desire to be the
best one can be. Regardless of their current levels of personal fitness, in the twelve weeks it will
take Scouts to complete the athletic requirements for this merit badge, they will be in better shape,
feel better about themselves, have more energy, and gain self-confidence in their overall abilities.
During this course, scouts will learn the importance of preventive habits, good nutrition, and making a
physical fitness plan.
Requirements to Do Before the Meeting: Have your health-care practitioner give you a physical
examination, using the Scout medical examination form.
Be prepared to deliver at the Meeting: nothing to deliver at the meeting
Requirements that will take work following the Meeting: By February 1, 2024, complete the first
fitness test and 3-day food log (requirement 6) and then complete the 12-week physical fitness plan
(requirement 7). Send those to the counselor by February 1, 2024. In the meantime, keep logging your
physical activities for 12 weeks and repeat the fitness tests every 4 weeks (requirement 8). Submit these
along with the completed Personal Fitness merit badge worksheet (requirements 1,2,3,4,5,9)
